Welcome to my new blog! My name is Ashton and I’m a mother of 1 with 4 pups. My daytime job is a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at a middle school, which I love. But, while I’m not at work, something I love even more is to travel with my family. I rely heavily on the internet when traveling to learn the best places to go, what to see, what to do, etc. And, of course, there are those times that I just stumble upon a place that makes our trip. So, I want to give back to all of you and share those places, tips and tricks that make your trip, vacation or adventure more memorable! Because that’s what living life is for, am I right? 🙌
My daughter and I mainly travel and explore around the PNW. BUT, my daughter has her first passport and I’m getting mine renewed, so be prepared for international travel posts in the future!
Another topic that you will read a lot about here is us learning and living through my daughter’s diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or CRPS. My daughter has had through 3 knee surgeries, 2 of them with anesthesia complications (which I’ll talk more about in future posts). She has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, CRPS. It’s a pretty rare condition and not many know about it, including doctors. Which, I’m sure you can imagine, is pretty frustrating. If you know about CRPS or you know some who is diagnosed with it, you know how defeating and exhausting it can be. So, I’ll share our ups, downs, insights and experiences navigating this disease.
Another thing that is really important to my daughter and me are our 4 pups. From oldest to youngest, we have Itzel (11 years old), Shiloh (6 years old), Shepherd (4 years old), and Autumn (1 year old). I’ll show lots of pictures and share about them a lot. They are with us and along for the ride almost every time! My daughter adores dressing them up and making them as cute as ever for pictures! If she had it her way, we would get a new dog every day!
